Since Police Lounge launched the TOP COP honor program in 2009, the TOP COPS Awards have paid tribute to outstanding Law Enforcement Officers across the State Of Ohio for actions above and beyond the call of duty. TOP COPS® awardees are nominated by their fellow officers for outstanding service throughout the year.
The TOP COPS submitted are then selected by an Awards Selection Committee comprised of selected members of our Police Lounge, who choose one or more of these fine TOP COPS from one of Ohio’s Law Enforcement Departments. The awardees are then ranked and the top twelve Officers are published on our website throughout the year. (once a month)
To qualify the Nominees must meet the following requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must work in Law Enforcement within the State Of Ohio
Have at least 1 full year of service
Must also be recognized by the Nominees immediate Supervisor, or Department Head. (i.e. Sheriff, Chief, Commander)
